By plugging one economiser direct into a wall outlet and another into a patch panel at the other end, one cable run of 4 twisted pairs can be used to transmit either 2 sets of data, voice or single data and voice signals. Economises on use of solid core premise wiring by splitting signal into two sets of 2 twisted pair, saves installation of additional cable runs. Y adaptor splits all eight lines allowing for parallel connection, it does not give two individual lines, however allows two (telephones) points to share same line. .
